Hello long lost blog followers! It’s been a while since we last updated this fun, travel filled blog! Mainly because, we had a baby in 2018 and haven’t really traveled since. I don’t want to blame it on the baby, but lets get real, we are going to blame it on the baby. And then there was 2019, which was a year of awfulness for us, so we are just going to skip over that year and move right on to 2020!
While 2020 was a chaotic year for many, it was the year we started the build of Camp Caravan Waco! When we were traveling in our lovely Airstream, we spent many nights at various RV parks, state parks, BLM and national parks. Of all of our stays, BLM was definitely top of our list, but anyone who lives in Texas knows that we love to own our land so there isn’t really any federally owned land anywhere to be found in this great state. Next up, we loved state park and national park campgrounds so we figured that since it’s not the best business plan to offer up boondocking (hello, we aren’t the federal government) we thought we would design a campground that resembles some of our favorite state/national park campgrounds.
Our goal was to design a park that had some trees between the sites, nature walking trails, and plenty of space to roam. So basically, you aren’t going to find a Jellystone here. No siree. Instead, you’ll find peace, quiet and possibly a bobcat if you aren’t careful.
Camp Caravan is now open to all campers! We have had people inquire about tent camping, but I’d say we just aren’t set up for that right now. So I guess I should say, we are open to all campers who have their own contained unit (aka bathroom). I’m hesitant to offer tent camping, ever, only because of the damage I’ve seen left behind from tent campers when they leave a BLM site. I definitely don’t want to be in charge of picking up folks TP they leave behind.
If you’re ever in the area, we’d love for y’all to stop by or even spend a night or two!
